WOW Writing Contest
I just noticed it’s been a whole week since I posted a blog entry. Sorry about that, but I’ve been very busy this past week preparing for a contest. I just finished a story today, “Amy’s Doll,” that I plan to enter in the Women of Writing’s (WOW) Spring 2008 Flash Fiction Contest. Sorry, but I can’t share the story with you per contest rules. If I’m a winner or honorable mention, they’ll publish the story on their website and I’ll provide a link at that time. If I don’t win anything, I’ll publish it on my website. The submissions are due by May 31st, so it may be awhile until you get to read it.
Writing the story was a challenge because entries are required to be 250 to 500 words. I stuck with the Horror genre, as if that’s a surprise, and found that Horror is quite difficult to limit to that many words. But all-in-all it was a valuable exercise for me. I and a few of my reviewers think I did a pretty good job. Cross your fingers, and wish me luck.
