Book Review: A Plump and Perky Turkey by Teresa Bateman

Today’s Thanksgiving book review is A Plump and Perky Turkey by Teresa Bateman. Here’s what it’s about:

The townspeople of Squawk Valley try to trick a turkey into being their Thanksgiving dinner, but are frustrated in their efforts when the turkey tricks them instead.

I really enjoyed this book even though (*SPOILER*) the turkey wins yet again. It’s a rhyming tale and reads nicely. The illustrations by Jeff Shelly work really well with the storyline too. This was a fun story with the turkeys knowing better than to sick around town near Thanksgiving and the townspeople unable to find a bird for their feast. They came up with an interesting plan to attract the turkeys back to town.

My Rating: 4 out of 5
