Movie Review: Mimesis

MimesisYAY! A zombie movie review this week. Well, Mimesis is kind of a zombie movie. Here’s what it’s about:

“A group of horror fans find themselves unwilling participants in a nightmarish role playing game that pays homage to a classic horror film.”

The ‘classic horror film’ is Night of the Living Dead. What’s hilarious is that the description for the movie is a spoiler. It’s better to go into this movie having not read that part, thinking that the zombies are real and that the characters have slipped into a more unexplained version of the original Night of the Living Dead than a mimesis. However, that’s not to say you’ll love the movie if you do watch unknowing.

I enjoyed about the last 15 minutes of this one, after the characters found out that they were in a mimesis and forced to role play. Prior to that, there were a bunch of like characters to Night of the Living Dead, running around mimicking the movie. All I can say is, BORING! There are some movies that should never be remade in the original’s image. Do I have to say more?

Still, this movie wasn’t horrible. The acting was okay. And the ending really is worth watching.

My Rating: 3 out of 5 Bloody Brains

Please leave zombie movie suggestions in the comments.
I prefer movies rated below a 4 on IMDB.
