Movie Review: Osombie

Back to zombie movie reviews with Osombie. Here’s what it’s about:

Dusty is on a mission to rescue her brother, a conspiracy theorist who’s convinced Osama bin Laden is still alive. But while in Afghanistan, she discovers that the terrorist has risen — and is building a zombie army to carry out his evil bidding.

While I liked the idea of this movie, the first word that comes to mind is ‘boring’. I lost interest pretty quick and checked email 15 minutes in. I didn’t completely hate it though. The characters were likable and the zombie make up was pretty good. The main problem is that the characters sat around talking about their lives in between zombie attacks. Really? In a zombie movie? We don’t care about the characters’ background stories. Show us a little personality before they’re zombie kibble and that’s enough. Let us love the character or despise the character so we can cry or cheer when their necks and guts are ripped out. And the plot needed more about Osama bin Laden rising as a zombie. Something you really should consider if you’ve got it as a major part in the film’s description.

  1. The concept for this is pretty good and should have been a success if they had done it the way you said, Wendy. the obvious answer is that you should have a career ahead of you with screen writing.
